An actress who was once renowned for her extraordinary good looks has now issued a dire warning to others after botched cosmetic procedures left her looking unrecognisable. Sometimes referred to as the 'goddess of love', in her youth, Lyn May, real name Lilia Guadalupe Mendiola, had men falling at her feet during her '70s and '80s heyday.
With her striking features and tumble of wavy dark hair, iconic sex symbol Lyn, now 75, looked every bit the pin-up girl and appeared to be unstoppable. Starting off as an exotic cabaret dancer, Lyn soon made a name for herself as a star of Mexican cinema, featuring in popular comedies such as Tívoli (1974), Carnival Nights (1978), and The Loving Ones (1979).
It wasn't long before Lyn, originally from Nuxco, Tecpan de Galeana, Guerrero, Mexico, was regarded as one of the most accomplished 'vedettes' of her generation, captivating cinemagoers with her charm and beauty. Unfortunately for Lyn, there were those looking up at the silver screen with eyes filled with envy. And one "jealous" friend even went as far as to push her into getting unregulated fillers in an apparent bid to destroy her dazzling face.
In the 1990s, Lyn began considering how she could enhance her already gorgeous facial features, including her cheekbones and jawline. It was then that, as per OkChicas, she was persuaded by a con artist to undergo collagen injections, with the promise that this procedure would give her a fresher, more youthful appearance.
