'He said his best feature was his bum. I preferred his eyes': Find out if it was a match for Sandra and Ian on this week's Blind Date

SANDRA, 52. Single for 18 months. One son, 22. Dating Past?. I was with my ex-husband for 23 years; before that I had an eight-year relationship with my very first boyfriend. Since my divorce, I have had a couple of relationships. Pre-Date Nerves?. None, just a lot of fizzy excitement. My son would love me to settle with a bit of a cheeky chappy. He still lives at home, and we probably annoy everyone because we’re relentlessly happy.
First Impressions?. Ian was wearing a lovely, navy suit with a reddish tie (I later learned it was the claret colour of Aston Villa’s strip). He’s 6ft, with a lovely smile. Sandra (pictured), 52, is looking for a kind, funny, tall, quirky guy with a positive zest for life.
Easy To Talk To?. Oh my goodness, we talked about everything. Ian is such an attentive listener. I found out we both enjoy hiking and growing our own vegetables. Ian runs hiking groups; he’s never without a compass apparently. Embarrassing Moments?. Ian forgot my name. He was sweating a lot, acting slightly differently during the first part of our meal. He finally said: ‘I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten your name – is it Sharon?’.
Did Sparks Fly?. Not for me unfortunately, and I feel awful because, on paper, we’re a perfect match. I’ve even thought about whether I could make myself feel romantically inclined towards Ian. I will say he didn’t pay me any compliments. He claims he told me I look nice, but he really didn’t.
