Sharing his story with the X account Fesshole - which posts anonymous stories that people send in - the man said he decided to pay for an escort to attend a family dinner with him and pretend to be his girlfriend.
One man who had enough of his family's badgering decided to take matters into his own hands by hiring someone to pretend to be his girlfriend for a weekend so that he could attend a family dinner in peace.
He said: "I hired an escort to act like my girlfriend and come to a family dinner weekend at my parent's place.
Another man claimed he once ran into an awkward situation in which he began dating a woman whose sister turned out to be an escort he used to see.
Others said they "couldn't see any issues" that might come up further down the line, while some also questioned whether the story was even true.
