The festive panto season might be coming to an end, but there's one adult-themed showing that's getting ready to stun the crowds. Step forward Snow White and the Seven Drag Queens, starring the likes of Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt and Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts, as well as Ru Paul’s Drag Race icons Michael Marouli and Tomara Thomas. Before the show takes to the road, director David Ducasse has opened up to the Mirror about the intense rehearsal regimes the stars face - and what audiences can expect.

The former Scooch and Eurovision star took over the reins for the third time for this year's North East Adult Panto and revealed just what has gone into the eagerly awaited spectacle. He told us: "It is hard work, I can't lie. You know, we're doing 12 hour days because we've got quite an intensive rehearsal period.".

However, he confessed: "But I think ultimately it's a joy. All of the real hard work for me as the writer and the director probably went into the months leading up to this point. The hours that you spend doing writes and rewrites and trying to change song lyrics and accommodate that person, or if the cast changes, that kind of thing. But it's enjoyable hard work.".

He added that the work doesn't start at Christmas as many might have expected. "I've kind of been collecting one liners, or hearing the odd joke here and there," he revealed. "I put them into my phone in the notes section, so I've got a panto gags notes section and then I've probably sat down to start writing it. maybe in September or October.
