There's something quite indulgent about capping off a busy day out with a hotel stay. It not only enhances the overall experience but also saves us from the fatigue of driving home. We had a delightful time visiting Warwick Castle, a family favourite, and were then treated to an overnight stay in its newest hotel, which seamlessly blends into the surroundings, resembling a medieval long hall.
Each room at the Warwick Castle Hotel accommodates two adults and up to three children, paying homage to the War of the Roses with rose motifs, chambers adorned with richly coloured fabrics, custom tapestries and shields. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by an imposing statue of a knight on horseback that comes to life at certain times. Our two children were absolutely thrilled by it, making for a magical start to our stay as we checked in.
The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and before we knew it, we were being escorted to our medieval-themed room via the lift. The room was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating our family of four. Our boys had bunk beds, there was a pullout floor bed for a third child if needed, and even a travel cot. A half-wall partially separated the bunk beds from our double bed, providing us with a space to unwind and chat once the kids were tucked in for the night.
The rooms are equipped with all the usual amenities: a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, teas, coffees, biscuits and milk. The only thing missing was a fridge — we needed milk for our little ones before bedtime but the hotel restaurant staff kindly provided this free of charge in the evening.
