This Airbnb host was left baffled by the ominous message that came with a booking. If you've ever booked a stay in an Airbnb property, you'll know that you can leave a message for the hosts alongside your booking. This is usually a chance to let them know any special requests or needs you might have or to let them know what time you think you'll arrive so they know when to expect you.
But one woman who owns an Airbnb property was left gobsmacked recently when she received a booking from a woman who had made it on behalf of her husband - as the message she left was bizarre. Donatella shared a video on TikTok in which she spoke about the booking and said she wasn't sure if she was "reading into it" too much or if there was really a hidden meaning in what the woman wrote.
In her video, Donatella said: "When the request first came through I honestly didn't think anything of it. It was a very average request. But afterwards, their message kept replaying in my head and I was like, 'Why would they make sure I knew that?'. "Basically, it was a wife booking on behalf of her husband, and she was saying that the booking was for him for work. Absolutely fine, maybe she does this, she books his travel stuff. But she put in the message that he would be staying there alone.".
Initially, Donatella believed that the woman was just trying to clarify that she wasn't going to be there and that the booking was only for her husband, but she said Airbnb gives you all those details, so she would know that just from the information the woman filled in when she was booking.
