WITH New Year just around the corner, it's the perfect time to spruce up your home for 2025. And a top interiors expert has revealed her simple 15-second hacks that won't cost you a penny, which is perfect when everyone is feeling the post-Christmas squeeze.
Sofa pro Kayleigh Stafford, from Snappy Sofas , says the couch is the heart of your living room. But general wear and tear can soon leave it looking a little tired. To give it an instant revamp, Kayleigh has revealed the five easy tricks that will breathe new life into your sofa, and none of them involve spending any money.
First up, Kayleigh reveals her "simple solution" to fixing sofa cushions that have gradually flattened and lost their shape. She says: "Just give each cushion a good shake and fluff to redistribute the filling.". She continues: "Be sure to rotate the cushions to even out their use and wear and tear.
"You should pay special attention to the middle seat, which is typically a high-use spot. "For a professional look, why not create symmetry and place large cushions at either end of the sofa, with smaller ones in the centre?. "A bold-coloured cushion in the centre will also help to draw the eye to the middle.".
Fabric that sags can make your sofa look older than it is, which is why you should pull any loose material tight and tuck it into the crevices behind the sofa frame and between cushions. Kayleigh advises: "Using a ruler or wooden spoon can help you to secure the fabric firmly into place as it creates cleaner lines and gives the appearance of a tailored sofa.".
