Inside Toby Stephen's life off-screen from Oscar winning parents and tragic death to divorce This Christmas, fans are looking forward to seeing much-loved actor Toby Stephens back on-screens as he prepares to take part in the two-part BBC series, The Split.

Toby was born on April 21, 1969 at the Middlesex Hospital in Fitzrovia, London to incredibly famous parents Sir Robert Stephens and Dame Maggie Smith.

Toby has had many acting successes over the years and was even nominated for a Saturn Award, for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the Bond villain Gustav Graves in Die Another Day, in 2002.

Away from his job, Toby has had a really difficult year, following the tragic loss of his famous mum Dame Maggie Smith.

His character, Archie, will take Hannah (played by Nicola Walker) on a date and we already know that their encounter doesn't go too well as he is left alone in a bar, without explanation.
