Emmerdale favourites Marlon Dingle and Rhona Ghoskirk were finally given some answers about April Windsor. April went missing at Christmas in harrowing scenes, with Marlon and Rhona leading the search for the young teenager. There had been fears she had died after a person was found stabbed, and they were carrying April's bank card. However, in a twist of fate, another young girl had been found with the card and a stab wound and had ended up dying, with April still missing and the family still unsure what had happened to her.

Tonight, PC Swirling arrived at the house with some news for Rhona and Marlon - but we are yet to find out if April is alive. Spoilers remained vague about what happened to her and if she made it out alive after her harrowing ordeal. Marlon Dingle star Mark Charnock said of the special episode: "It's incredible and she's incredible in it and it fills in all the gaps the audience have had so far. I'm really proud of the show for doing it.

"I think it's a wonderful piece of drama that's going to be really significant going forward. You see the alternate life that she's been living that will come to be a major problem for Marlon going forward because he can't comprehend it.". Teasing she will make a return, Mark added: "It's not straightforward; it's almost being like missing in your house. The old them has gone. I think the good thing about it is that it'll reunite the family because they're all at a level playing field trying to make it work for her," he said, "They're all treading on egg shells - it's not just Marlon - and I was saying before, it's like they've been searching this human haystack and now they've got the needle back, it's just a different being, with different reference points.".

A special episode will air tomorrow night (Tuesday) which will detail what April went through and we will finally find out what happened to the teen during her harrowing month away from the Dales. Mark had also previously opened up about his fears over being let go from the soap. "You can never take it for granted and you never know until you get your next contract. I am a terrible worrier. I find myself driving home muttering lines trying to remember how I played them out. I am a bit neurotic in that way but Emmerdale is such a great show to work on," he told us of his feelings towards being on the show for so long.
