The mum picked up a collection of fun Christmas headbands for her kids, along with some festive elf sun glasses. She also got wrapping paper and some ‘Letters to Santa’ kits, among other bargains. The bargain hunter told fellow shoppers: “Jumped straight onto The Works... for little Miss Christmas here... I am over the moon!.

“50 items for £30!. “Gifts bags, wrap n all their headbands were 50p... bring on Christmas 2025.”. The Works isn’t the only retailer to be offering incredible discounts following the New Year. Primark has launched "seasonal sales" in some of its stores, offering shoppers up to 50 per cent off.

Signs promoting the hefty discounts have been spotted across shops. The budget retailer prides itself on selling fashion at affordable prices all year round. For that reason, it doesn't run traditional seasonal Black Friday, Boxing Day or January sales.

But, Primark has confirmed to The Sun it does offer "seasonal markdowns throughout the year" - which in essence replicate January sales. Shoppers are also being treated to some big-brand discounts at Currys. The high-street store's January Sale has begun, with savings on items like TVs, vacuums, electric toothbrushes and air fryers.
