Jamie Carragher points finger at Arne Slot over huge Trent Alexander-Arnold mistake

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has claimed Trent Alexander-Arnold was left too exposed during their 2-2 draw against Manchester United after a difficult day for the defender. The Reds were unable to get into their groove against the struggling Red Devils despite many tipping them to inflict a heavy defeat on Ruben Amorim's side, with Alexander-Arnold having a torrid day in defence.
United stunned Anfield by going 1-0 up through Lisandro Martinez's stunning finish, which saw Liverpool's backline caught out and Alexander-Arnold was at fault for the goal. After being run ragged by Diogo Dalot down the left-hand side, he later gifted possession to United, who broke in numbers before he was faced with Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes down the same flank.
Fernandes skipped around the England right-back before slipping in Martinez to finish and Carragher was far from pleased with what he saw tactically from Arne Slot's side. "This was a huge problem tactically in this position," he told Sky Sports. "It was far too easy to get the ball to Manchester United's wingback on the left side. We said Dalot wasn't great going 1v1 last week, but he fancied right from the start of the game, he thought he could go past Trent Alexander-Arnold. We saw it numerous times in the game.
"Look at Fernandes, on the front foot, aggressive. He was like that from minute one against Liverpool. This was shocking from Liverpool defensively, really poor. But that was brilliant from Fernandes and Martinez."]. Alexander-Arnold was accused by some of being distracted by speculation linking with him a move to Real Madrid. Slot dismissed those claims but admitted he did struggle playing against Dalot and Fernandes.
