Michael also advised his audience to prune their grapes as early as possible "before the sap starts to rise.". In order to get a "good crop" green-fingered enthusiasts should "winter wash" their fruit trees. According to the gardener, this will help control pests and diseases in your flowerbeds.

He demonstrated how to go about pruning your plants before frost sets in. Michael also recommended taking this time to plant items such as bare root roses, shrubs, hedging fruit trees, and other bushes. He explained that "as long as the ground isn’t frozen," this weekend is the best time to carry out this task.

You should also winter prune your deciduous ornamental trees, shrubs, and fruit trees, according to the expert. According to other gardening enthusiasts, you should prune your roses before mid-February. Most people recommend using Valentine's Day as your deadline for this task.
