Judd Trump claims he "loves winning too much to miss too many tournaments" after he beat Barry Hawkins 6-1 at The Masters. Trump was in stellar form on Tuesday as he established a 5-0 lead over Hawkins, who he defeated in the UK Championship final in December. The 35-year-old completed breaks of 56, 59 and 60 to set up his dominant lead, and sealed the deal with a 112 after his opponent came back with a 70 break.

Now set for a quarter-final face-off with Ding Junhui on Friday, Trump is hitting his stride and shows no signs of slowing up. He joined BBC host Hazel Irvine after the game and was greeted by snooker legends John Parrott and Shaun Murphy for a chat about the round.

Murphy quizzed Trump on how he geared up for The Masters during the festive period - and he admitted that he couldn't keep away from the table for long after winning the UK Championship. Trump said: "I had four or five exhibitions and I did have a little bit of time off over New Year for four or five days. But after that, I did my exhibitions out in China and then I went to Dubai and practised for four or five days on the way back to here. So, I always keep in touch, even though I allowed myself to skip a tournament after winning the UK.

He added: "I love winning too much to miss too many tournaments.". This warning message to his fellow Masters opponents shows Trump is confident in his talent to balance time between practice and relaxation. The snooker star has expressed plenty of belief in his ability to take the win home for the third time in his career.
