Katie Piper shares emotional health update after 'years of battling with eye'

Katie Piper has recently undergone a surgical procedure to safeguard her left eye. The model and activist shared the news with her followers on social media, stating: "After many years battling with my eye health, I’ve reached the end of road somewhat, and the decision has been made to try a prosthetic eye shell.
"This marks the start of a journey to have an artificial eye, with an incredible medical team behind me. As always I’m incredibly grateful to all those in the NHS and private health care system for their talent and kindness. I will share my journey, I’m hopeful and nervous about being able tolerate it and would love to hear from any of you in the comments if you’ve been on this journey or have any advice…".
Katie attached an image and video from the hospital during her procedure, including footage of the doctor inserting the prosthetic eye. Fans rushed to the comments to share their words of encouragement. One user wrote: "You’re positivity after what happened to you is just so inspiring. You are amazing and the eye you have will be beautiful I'm sure of it and you’ll go on to inspire others.

The Loose Women star, now 40, was just 24 in March 2008 when her evil ex, Daniel Lynch, plotted the vicious ambush that left her face severely burned and in need of 400 operations. She has come a long way since her trauma and has bravely rebuilt her life - now a campaigner for other victims, she has been awarded an OBE for charity and burns services.
