Katya Jones put on a brave face as she and fellow Strictly Come Dancing stars left their hotel in Manchester on Saturday. The professional dancer, 35, who is currently on tour with the BBC show, is said to be 'devastated' by the way her dance partner Wynne Evans has been dropped by Strictly in the wake of his sexual-jibe scandal - with fears she will now quit. The Mail On Sunday revealed this montyh that Wynne, 53, made a vile remark about a 'spit roast' aimed at Strictly: It Takes Two host Janette Manrara during a photocall for the tour.

Katya has shown her support for her dance partner with social media tributes since he announced last week that he was stepping down from the tour and his BBC radio show. Katya failed to rise a smile as she was pictured leaving her hotel dressed in a cream cardigan and brown leather trousers on Saturday. Also seen leaving the hotel was fellow pro dancer Karen Haur who cut a casual figure in a black and white tracksuit.

Meanwhile Dianne Buswell appeared to have enjoyed some shopping in the city centre as she walked around the shops carrying bags. Meanwhile Lauren Oakley opted for a brighter ensemble and wore a pale pink co-ord. Janette's husband Aljaž Škorjanec appeared in top spirits as he flashed a smile while carrying a gym bag to work. In the Mail On Sunday video, Wynne can be seen stood in the middle of a line-up of 20 celebrities and dancers as Janette, who hosts the TV spin-off Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, is summoned to join them. As she approaches, Wynne warns her with a grin: 'Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]!'.

He then pulls a suggestive face at the actor, behind Janette's back, as she moves between them. It is at that point Wynne makes his disgusting joke at her expense. Seconds later, her dancer husband Aljaz Skorjanec, who was standing nearby, asks her: 'Darling, are you OK?' She replies curtly: 'Yep.'. Following the widespread revulsion caused by the revelations in the Mail story, Wynne was replaced on his morning radio show on Monday by comedian Robin Morgan, who also stood in for Wynne while he appeared on Strictly last year.

While the tour is carrying on without Wynne, his fellow dancing stars, such as Katya, 35, have been no stranger to  a scandal on the BBC ballroom show. Following Wynne's exit, insiders have claimed those working on the programme are fearful Katya will quit over the way it has been handled. Her Strictly experience has been affected by several headline-hitting rumours and sources have said there are concerns she will no longer shoulder the strain. Most notably, Katya was caught kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh when they were in a couple on the show in 2018, while she was married to fellow professional dancer Neil Jones.

A few series later there were rumours of a feud between Katya and her 2022 partner Tony Adams, as sources said she was 'working him too hard' in rehearsals and it was causing tension. During the 2024 series when Katya was paired with Wynne, the pair caused a stir when viewers noticed Wynne's 'wandering hand' on the dancer's waist and stomach. They caught the moment she firmly pulled his hand back up, with them later insisting it was just a private joke between them.
