Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) is set to deliver another bloody slice of medieval RPG action when it hits consoles and PC soon. Henry, the protagonist from the first game, a blacksmith’s son who is yours to mould as you see fit, is back in this open-world tale of revenge set amid the backdrop of a 15th-century civil war.

So, grab your longsword and goblet of mead, and get ready to explore the sprawling kingdom of Bohemia. Here’s what you need to know about KCD2, including when you’ll be able to play it and how its gameplay has evolved. There’s not long to go until the game hits PS5, Xbox and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). Developer Warhorse Studios recently brought KCD2’s release date forward by a week to February 4, 2025.

At the time, the move felt like it was intended to give the game some breathing room in a packed February, which previously included Assassin's Creed Shadows (though Ubisoft has since delayed that game to March) and fellow RPG Avowed. Pre-orders for the game went live in November, and a PS5 Pro-enhanced version is also on the cards.

KCD2 is a more grounded and realistic RPG than the fantasy fare the genre is typically associated with. Think epic sandbox hijinks in the vein of Skyrim (minus the dragons), with the kind of brutal swordplay you’d find in the Chivalry games, plus a sprinkling of survival mechanics, and you’re almost there.
