Scott Thomas has set the record straight about why he is really entering the Love Island All Stars villa. Earlier this month, it was claimed the TV star had an ulterior motive for signing up for the ITV programme, which kicks off in just a matter of days.
The 36-year-old first appeared on the show back in 2016 and has since gone on to make a name for himself in the business world. During his stint on the second series of the sun-kissed reality show, Scott ended up finishing in third place with ex-partner Kady McDermott.
However, it was recently reported that PR company owner Scott, who is the oldest of the 2025 cast, is returning for the All Stars series following the collapse of his separate health and fitness business, hinting he’s after a quick payday. A source told The Sun: “Not only is it a payday for him going on the show, but it helps boost his profile for future business ventures. Scott's a grafter, so he always has something else up his sleeve.”.
However, in a video posted on Instagram shortly after the source spoke out, Scott insisted he was returning to the hit show because he wants to ‘show off the new version of himself’ following ‘a few years of sobriety, self development’. He told his social media followers in the new clip: “I wanted to jump on here and give my own reasons for why I’m doing the show. You’re probably thinking, ‘wow, [are] you not too old now Scott? You’ve been there, you’ve done it, you’ve moved on.’ For me, Love Island completely changed my whole life. It completely transformed the trajectory I was on. And still to this day, it’s opened up so many doors for me.”.
