A number of members of Manchester United's squad believe they know the source of recent team news leaks, it has been claimed. United's Manchester Derby XI was shared on social media the day before the match, with senior stars Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho left out by head coach Ruben Amorim. Both were reportedly quizzed with regard to the leaks, with Amorim said to be satisfied neither was personally responsible.

The Red Devils have struggled since that victory, losing three straight league games without scoring a single goal. Most recently, they conceded twice in the opening 20 minutes in a 2-0 loss at home to Newcastle. Garnacho's brother Roberto has also denied being the source of any leaks, with Amorim said to be determined to get to the bottom of the situation. In the meantime, though, some players have been offering up their own theories.

According to The Mail, representatives of multiple United players have contacted the publication with names of the supposed leakers. The intel is said to have come from those squad members themselves, who the publication claims have channeled their inner Sherlock Holmes in search of the truth.

"We try to evaluate everything – training performance, game performances, engagement with team-mates, push their team-mates up,” Amorim told Sky Sports when explaining his decision to leave Rashford and Garnacho out of the derby squad. "Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players. It is my selection. Simple.
