Marcus Rashford has arrived at Old Trafford in his Manchester United tracksuit amid reports he will return to the squad. The forward had been left out of for the last four games having initially been dropped for the Manchester derby. It has cast huge doubt over his future at the club with Ruben Amorim having to field constant questions regarding the 26-year-old.
However, ahead of their clash with Newcastle on Monday night, Rashford has rocked up to the stadium donning his United tracksuit and with headphones and looks to be prepping for a return in some capacity. United have lost their last three games on the bounce, two of those coming in the Premier League, and Amorim may look to change things up when they host Newcastle. Rashford scored the first goal of his tenure but has been largely absent since then.
Following his initial snub, which Amorim claimed was influenced by his performances in training, Rashford himself came out and said that he was ready for a "new challenge" - which only served to fuel rumours of an exit from Manchester. He said: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it's going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.".
Amorim has since claimed Rashford can enjoy a new challenge under him as he attempts to resurrect the Red Devils. The Portuguese boss also said: "When I feel that it is the right moment I will change something until then I will continue to think about what is the best for the team.".
