Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration event start time, confirmed holiday skins and new Jeff mode details

Christmas is coming up fast and there's presents and festivities to look forward to both in real life and across a bunch of live service games, including the recently launched Marvel Rivals. The Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration event kicks off this week, with NetEase hopping on boards the seasonal events train with the likes of Fortnite Winterfest 2024 and the annual Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event – although the game is vying for the same player base as Blizzard's hero shooter. So expect themed goodies from wintery skins and frosted maps, to a new game mode that appears to borrow from Nintendo's Splatoon.
While NetEase hasn't shared many of the finer details, it has dropped a trailer for the Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration event which is bordering on a cuteness overload with the sheer amount of Jeff the Land Shark packed in there. There's also a fan service shot of Venom's festive cake, if you catch my drift, with what I'm sure is just a coincidentally-placed "time to feast" voice line. The Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration starts at 7am GMT / 2am EST on Friday, December 20. For US players on the west coast, that's 11pm PST on Thursday, December 19. The time and date have been confirmed both on the game's Discord server as well as the description in the Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration event trailer.
