Max George has shared footage of himself pleading for his heart rate to increase as he waits for surgery. The 36-year-old The Wanted singer candidly revealed earlier this month that he will be spending the Christmas weeks in hospital after he was forced to seek medical aid for his heart. He has been updating fans with his progress and on Sunday shared a short clip of himself laying in bed while looking at his heart rate.

Numbers on the hand-sized monitor moved from 35 to 34 to 38 with the Chasing The Sun singer wagging a finger at the device and saying: "Go up." The number then dropped to 37 and the star suggested he is looking for some excitement to help his heart rate increase.

He captioned the video to write: "Come on @mancity.. Sort me out will ya?!!" and he said out loud in the video clip: "City are going to win today." However, the device then appeared to switch itself off, leaving Max to exhale: "Brilliant". Earlier in the week, Max revealed that he has been struggling to increase his heart rate while doctors treat him for his heart issues.

He shared in a prior video update: "My heart rate dropped this morning, which was a little bit scary. But everyone here's amazing and they managed to get it back up a little bit and get it stable again, which is great." And on Saturday he revealed that he is going to be fitted with a pacemaker to help regulate his heart's rhythm and rate.

He said in a video filmed from his hospital bed: "So latest is that 100 per cent I'm going to have a little friend put in here at some point," as he pointed at his heart. He continued: "I've got an issue with the bottom part of my heart, it's called a block.
