Max George reveals it is ‘so good’ to spend Christmas at home with his family after an emergency trip to the hospital days before. The Wanted singer, 36, underwent emergency surgery last week to have a pacemaker fitted after feeling ‘really unwell’ with a low heart rate.

He previously called the procedure the ‘best Christmas present’ and confirmed he would be heading home for the big day. Max gave fans a little update on Instagram, posting pictures from a low-key Christmas snuggled up with girlfriend Maisie Smith, 23.

‘It’s so good to be home❤️,’ he captioned the collection of snaps, which included their dinner table complete with Christmas crackers and decorations. Maisie, who is a former EastEnders star, met Max when they were competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 and started dating two years later.

Max was relaxing in a brown hoodie while Maisie rocked a red jumper and matching Christmas paper crown. He didn’t give any further health updates after confirming on December 23 that he would be heading home for the holiday. ‘The numbers are way way better. I feel knackered, slept a lot today,’ he said before returning home.

‘A few more tests to do in the next couple of weeks, something to do with my lungs. But that’s the least of my worries right now. ‘So yeah, all good. A bit battered and bruised, and knackered but [he gave a thumbs up].’. After the shock health turn, Maisie had said she was planning to visit him in hospital despite that entailing a 500-mile round trip.
