Max George receives 'best present ever' as he reunites with Maisie Smith after surgery

Max George was excited to receive the 'best present ever' as he reunited with his girlfriend, Maisie Smith, after being discharged from hospital. The Wanted singer, 36, shared earlier this month that he was hospitalised as doctors found "some issues" with his heart. Max, who has been sharing health updates with fans, has since had emergency surgery to have a pacemaker fitted and was discharged from the hospital right before Christmas.
Late on Christmas Eve, Max returned to his Instagram page to share a happy update with fans from the comfort of his own home. He said: "Merry Christmas, everyone. I just wanted to say that I'm back home waiting for my beautiful girlfriend to arrive at some point. Best present ever.".
He also thanked fans for 'all the love' and support they gave him in the last few weeks. In the short clip, the musician rocked a comfy t-shirt as he laid back on the sofa. The star captioned the sweet Instagram post: "See you soon @maisiesmithofficial," and added a red heart emoji.
Earlier this week, he shared the news of his hospital discharge with fans in a video message through his Instagram Story. The clip showed Max - who rose to fame as a member of the Wanted - lying in a hospital bed as she gave an update on the situation.
Max said: "It's time to go home. The numbers are way, way better. Feel knackered. Slept a lot today. Few more tests to do over the next couple of weeks - something to do with my lungs, but ... that's the least of my worries right now. So yep, all good. A bit battered and bruised and knackered but ...".
