Sky Sports presenter Abigail Davies has been forced to apologise after Michael van Gerwen swore in his post-match interview following his win over Chris Dobey at the World Darts Championship. Three-time world champion Van Gerwen thrashed Dobey 6-1 to book his place in the final at Alexandra Palace.
And speaking to Davies after his victory, Van Gerwen said he had 'won f*** all yet' in response to a question about where it would rank if he were to triumph in tomorrow's final. 'We are going to have to apologise for the language there,' Davies said as the Dutchman shrugged his shoulders.
Van Gerwen was in superb form in the semi-final as he swept aside 15th seed Dobey to reach a seventh world final. His opponent will be either Luke Littler or Stephen Bunting, who meet in the other semi-final on Thursday night. Michael van Gerwen made an x-rated comment as he spoke to Sky Sports' Abigail Davies.
Van Gerwen thrashed Chris Dobey to reach the final of the World Darts Championship. Van Gerwen said: 'I'm in the final, I've won f*** all yet, I need to make sure I do it in the final. 'I am here with a mission, with a target, you are always going to have ups and downs, today I showed maturity, even when I wasn't at my best I produced some good stuff at the right moments and that gives me confidence.
'To win in the semi-final means a lot to me. What do I always say, we are not even close yet, we are still so far away. 'Tomorrow is another day. The title is still far away, that is what I have to tell myself, I don't want to make mistakes, I want to keep battling.'.
