Michelle Keegan told how husband Mark Wright was left in tears after watching her Netflix thriller Fool Me Once. The actress, who gave a rare glimpse of her baby bump in a new interview about her exciting family news this week, also waxed lyrical about 38-year-old Mark. She said the former The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) star was so proud of her lead performance in Fool Me Once he ended up crying by the end. Michelle said: "I was like, 'What are you crying for?!' But he knew how nervous I'd been and he was so proud.".
In the gripping drama, Michelle plays Maya Burkett, a haunted mother who believes her husband is dead - only to see him alive on her nanny camera. However, after reading a scathing review after the first episode aired, Michelle refused to watch it - until loyal Mark persuaded her to with his support. And it smashed Netflix records with more than 37 million streaming accounts tuning in within its first week alone. Michelle was nominated for Drama Performance and the show itself was nominated for New Drama at the 29th National Television Awards.
Yet, the actress, originally from Stockport, Greater Manchester, turned off her phone for the whole day when she read that one bad review after the first episode. She told Grazia: "I couldn’t watch it. I saw one review that wasn’t very nice and I just turned my phone off.". The interviewer asked: "For the whole day,?" to which Michelle said: "Yeah, head in the sand. That’s how I handle life." It mirrors Michelle's modesty she has displayed throughout her successful career, despite winning multiple awards since her Coronation Street days. She has won 17 gongs for her work with Corrie alone, including Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards and Best Soap Actress in the TV Choice Awards.

They wed in 2015 after dating for around two-and-a-half years, and now believes the secret to their long marriage is being "best friends". Mark also works in the media industry, and is now a radio host and entertainment reporter. Yet, talking to Grazia, Michelle added: "Mark and I feel lucky to work in this industry, but it doesn't dominate our lives. We dip our toe in, then step back to normal life. It’s very boring and probably quite basic, but that’s how I like it.".
