Mikel Arteta has huge concern for Gabriel Jesus after the Arsenal forward was stretchered off in agony against Manchester United. The Brazilian started the Gunners’ FA Cup defeat to the Red Devils on Sunday. But he lasted fewer than 40 minutes after picking up what looked to be a serious knee injury.
Jesus was clearly in pain as he was carried off of the pitch and was then replaced by Raheem Sterling. And Arteta has not given a positive outlook on the injury. Speaking in his post-match press conference, the Arsenal boss said: “Big worry, that's my feeling. He had to come off with a stretcher. The impact, the feeling that he had.”.

Jesus’ absence adds to growing injury woes in North London. Defenders Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain out, while Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri are also restricted to the sidelines. Arsenal missed a number of chances to beat a United side who were down to ten men after Diogo Dalot’s red card. But Arteta insists that the strikers aren’t just to blame. He added: “We miss from various ways. From different players.”.
