Millwall target former Stoke and Plymouth boss for talks after Neil Harris exit

Millwall want to speak with Steven Schumacher and Matt Bloomfield in their search for a new head coach. Lions legend Neil Harris announced earlier this week that he would be standing down from his role after fixtures against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, bringing his 10 month reign to an end.
The Londoners have already started the search for his successor and Mirror Football understands Schumacher and Bloomfield are both in contention for the role. Schumacher, 40, has been unattached since he was sacked by Stoke City back in September after just nine months at the helm. But he impressed in his previous role at Plymouth Argyle, where he delivered promotion to the Championship on a modest budget.
Schumacher was widely regarded as one of the most exciting young manager's in the EFL at the time of his switch to Stoke and would be available immediately. Wycombe boss Bloomfield has made a big impression at the club he represented over 500 times during his playing career. The 40-year-old was just crowned as League One's manager of the month for November and has guided the Chairboys to the top of the league off the back of an impressive 17-match unbeaten run.
Bloomfield has just brought up a century of matches in charge at Adams Park and, like Schumacher at Plymouth, has achieved excellent results in the third-tier without breaking the bank. Millwall are likely to speak with a number of candidates before deciding on their next direction of travel. Lincoln City's Michael Skubala is another impressive coach from League One who is highly thought of, as is Dave Challinor of Stockport County.
