The most popular vintage toys that have sold for thousands of pounds on eBay last year have been revealed. A study of eBay sold prices data by insurer Home Protect shows how a Lego Star Wars Cloud City (10123) set sold for an eye-watering £2,050, while a My Little Pony G1 Orange Cotton Candy Flat Foot Unmarked Hoof figurine went for an impressive £1,022.48. Barbie dolls saw a huge comeback in 2024, thanks to the live-action Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, with a Barbie Meadow Mares Horse Rare Original Unopened Box selling for £928 on eBay. Other rare items to look out for include a Billionaire 14, MWCT Beanie Baby which went for £475 and a 2005 Bratz Felicia Campfire Collector’s Doll with Two Outfits and Poster which fetched £539.93.
If you have one of these items gathering dust in your home, it's not guaranteed that they'll sell for these prices. It all depends on their condition and how much someone is willing to pay for them. You can list up to 300 items on eBay for free every month. You could also try going to a toy or collectable fair, or contacting a reputable dealer. David Joyson, home insurance and consumer expert at Home Protect, said: "In an age where nostalgia is more profitable than ever, particularly with the resurgence of brands like Barbie, there has never been a better time to cash in on your childhood favourites.
“This growing trend, especially fuelled by online auction platforms like eBay, reveals that some toys are more than just sentimental keepsakes - they’re valuable assets. From Lego Star Wars sets to rare My Little Pony figures, these toys have proven to be worth a small fortune.". Most valuable Lego sets. Most valuable My Little Pony sets. Most valuable Barbies.
