After binge-watching over the weekend, fans have aired their mixed feelings about The Night Agent season two. Netflix's hit espionage series continues to follow FBI agent Peter Sutherland, portrayed by Gabriel Basso, an agent stained by his father’s treason and relegated to nighttime phone duty at the Bureau.
In the first season, he gets tangled in a government conspiracy alongside tech whiz Rose Larkin (played by Luciane Buchanan), sparked by a personal tragedy that unravels her family's darkest secret. However, despite returning with more nail-biting suspense and surprises, season two has unfortunately left some feeling underwhelmed. A Reddit thread encapsulated the disenchantment, with one viewer criticising: "If you enjoyed season 2, then you never saw 24. Cheesier knock-off version of 24.".
Echoing the sentiment, another post read: "The acting in 2 is atrocious and the story line predictable.". Disappointment continued as another chimed in: "Peter is kind of dumb. Some of his decision-making is just infuriating", reports the Mirror US. One particularly disgruntled fan voiced their frustration with the current series, exclaiming: "What is this MESS of a season? I'm at ep. 6 and it keeps getting more RIDICULOUS!.
"Isn't this supposed to be about a COVERT agent? Now the agent, his handler, his friend and some other woman are compromising a bunch of secrets, missions, and agents because they're cooped up together... "It's supposed to be a show about INTELLIGENCE and all I see is an absence of it (excuse the pun), just people acting emotionally.... And if not enough, the flashbacks are about other f***-ups? Pathetic!".
