Netflix fans are 'losing their minds' over the return of an 'amazing' drama that hit screens this week. The Recruit, featuring Noah Centineo as CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks, first premiered in 2022 but is set to make a comeback with a brand new series on January 30.
The second season will see the actor joined by award-winning South Korean star Teo Yoo, who will portray Jang Kyun. The upcoming episodes will see Owen embarking on a 'life-threatening espionage mission in South Korea' where he uncovers a shocking revelation.
After Netflix released the first trailer, fans expressed their anticipation: "I'm losing my mind waiting! start 3 asap! thank you." Another enthused: "Woow amazing I'm waiting for 30 January." And another echoed: "That looks really good, can tell it's gonna be a good classic.".
Others chimed in: "The Recruit is really good. I am watching season 3 to try and remember what happened before the premiere of season 2 but someone tell Netflix 3 YEARS between new episodes is how you kill a show.". The first series left viewers hanging with Owen and Russian asset Max Meladze (Laura Haddock) trapped in a basement by Karolina Lashin AKA Nichka (Maddie Hasson) - a member of the Russian mafia.
Karolina fires her gun at Max, leaving her fate unknown, and several other questions unanswered. Show creator Alexi Hawley has confirmed that the second series will pick up from where the first left off. Speaking to Netflix's Tudum ahead of the launch, Noah said: "Owen's headspace is complete chaos. He has just witnessed Max - the former CIA asset whom he almost died multiple times trying to protect - get shot by her daughter Nichka. Owen is wondering how in the hell he is going to survive the next few seconds of his life.".
