Newcastle set date for Alexander Isak contract talks amid Arsenal transfer interest

Newcastle are planning to resurrect contract talks with Alexander Isak in the summer - indicating that Arsenal's hopes of landing the sought-after Swedish striker are slim. The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent months in the wake of his fine form for Eddie Howe's side, who are once again in contention to qualify for next season's Champions League campaign.
Isak made it 19 goals in 25 appearances this term with a brace in Saturday's 3-1 win away at Southampton. And while his latest showing in front of goal may have caught the eye elsewhere, Newcastle are relaxed over his future. That's partly because the club want to talk with Isak about an improved contract, as first revealed by The Telegraph.
It's said that the club have already pencilled in fresh talks for the summer - away from the distractions of games - even though the striker's current deal still has three-and-a-half years to run. Isak would likely become the club's highest paid star if an agreement is reached with the man who became the club's record signing at £66million back in 2022.
