MUSIC fans are convinced one noughties indie band are 'nailed on' to perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival. The Maccabees sparked whispers of a reunion in October and they have now confirmed they are back together and performing again. The five-piece band, fronted by Orlando Weeks, are already booked to headline a London music festival this summer, but fans think they could go one step bigger.

The Maccabees will be taking to the stage at All Points East in August and their army of followers are hoping they could pull a secret performance at Glastonbury out of the bag beforehand. Writing on Reddit, one fan said: "They’re back and headlining All Points East in August, so thoughts on a Glasto slot - potentially a Bloc Party esq slot on other stage? Would be cool to see them play.".

Another person replied: "I would say 100% secret set. I would imagine if offered the chance to play.... they would not be able to say no!". And a third chimed in: "Yeah pretty sure they’ll be there.". And someone else added: "I am pretty sure they said that APE was their 'Reunion' show so it feels unlikely they will be at Glasto but you never know.".

The Maccabees split in 2017 after an impressive 14 years in the music industry. At the time, the About Your Dress stars insisted there had not been a fallout and that they had just "run out of steam". Frontman Orlando told The Independent: "It was everyone knowing that that was what was going to happen.
