Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has fired back after reportedly being sued by a former manager. Brandon Garrett claims he worked as Minaj’s manager during her Pink Friday 2 Tour last year. On Friday in Los Angeles, he filed a lawsuit through his attorney, Thomas Feher, alleging the Super Bass hitmaker assaulted him.
He is also suing for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. As per TMZ, the alleged former employee of Minaj claims the 42-year-old ‘struck’ him backstage after her concert in Detroit at the Little Caesars Arena in April 2024. Legal documents obtained by the US outlet show that Garrett claims he was first sent on an errand by Minaj – real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty.
It’s said she then summoned him to her dressing room. She then allegedly quizzed members of the team on their job roles before ‘flying into a rage’ when Garrett said he once instructed someone else to pick up her prescription. In the suit, Garrett claims she yelled at him: ‘Are you f***ing crazy, having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your f***ing mind, and if my husband were here, he would knock out your f***ing teeth.’.
She reportedly then screamed: ‘You’re a dead man walking. You just f***ed up your whole life, and you will never be anyone; I’ll make sure of it.’. After warning him that his ‘life was over,’ Minaj then reportedly struck Garrett on the right side of his face with her open hand.
