Alan Cumming has revealed that people still go wild for his turn in the James Bond film GoldenEye. The Scottish actor, 69, starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 1995 spy movie, which marked as Pierce's Bond debut following Timothy Dalton. In the blockbuster, Alan played Boris Grishenko, a computer programmer affiliated with the crime syndicate Janus, which Bond had been tasked with shutting down.

The movie sees 007 fight to prevent a rogue ex-MI6 agent (played by Sean Bean), 006, from using a satellite weapon against London to cause a global financial meltdown. In a new interview, Alan has recalled that fans still 'freak out' about his appearance in the film despite it nearly being 30 years old.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: 'It was such a long time ago, but people still freak out about it. Alan Cumming revealed that fans still 'freak out' about his appearance in GoldenEye. The Scottish actor, 69, starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 1995 spy film (pictured alongside Sean Bean).

'Maybe it has to do with the [GoldenEye] video game, which is iconic. 'People always ask me to say, "I'm invincible" — still shout at me in the street and everything. 'It's sort of grown slowly and now it's become this sort of catchphrase, I guess. It's great to have a catchphrase. I love a catchphrase.'.

GoldenEye also starred Robbie Coltrane as a Russian gangster, Minnie Driver as a mistress, and Famke Janssen as a Georgian fighter pilot. Judi Dench also starred as M and made history as the first woman to portray the character, replacing Robert Brown.
