Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant sent fans into a frenzy when they rocked up on the red carpet for the premiere of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy in Paris on Monday. The Hollywood A-listers reunite in the film after shooting to fame in Bridget Jones's Diary in 1996, in which Renee, 55, plays the titular role and Hugh, 64, stars as love rat, Daniel Cleaver.
Grinning for the paparazzi in the French capital last night, the pair looked like they'd barely aged as they made posed for pictures. Renee stunned in a black, lace off-the-shoulder dress teamed with a pair of patent stilettos. She wore her golden blonde hair in a chic low pony tail, tied back with a black bow, which showed off her effortlessly glamorous make-up and elegant gold jewellery.
Hugh, who returns to the Bridget Jones franchise after swerving the most recent instalment, Bridget Jones's Baby, also looked dapper, sporting a classic black velvet two-piece suit and a crisp white shirt. The actors happily posed for photos together alongside co-stars Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor as well as their director, Michael Morris, and screenwriter Helen Fielding, whose 1996 novel Bridget Jones’s Diary was adapted into the hit film that spawned an entire cinematic franchise built around Renee's beloved heroine.
Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy is based on Fielding’s 2013 novel of the same name. Set 14 years after the events of The Edge of Reason, Mad About The Boy catches up with Bridget, now a 51-year-old widow who still keeps a diary. To the audience’s shock, Mad About The Boy reveals her beloved Darcy died five years ago, leaving Bridget as a single mother of two.
