Royal Mail has advised its customers of potential delays to mail delivery today, January 27, owing to several disruptions affecting standard operations. While Royal Mail offers Sunday dispatch for selected products such as Tracked 24 and Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day, its regular service runs from Monday to Saturday, delivering letters and parcels to countless homes in the UK.

Recent issues reported by the postal service include delays within the past 24 hours, indicating that post may not be timely in some regions. The latest update on Royal Mail's website stated: "Some mail posted on Friday in the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas for delivery on Saturday in other parts of the UK may arrive later than planned.".

Further troubles included adverse weather over the weekend hampering services in Scotland. On January 24, high winds caused the cancellation of flights from mainland Scotland to local isles such as Stornoway, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Benbecula and back, resulting in possible late arrivals of some mail.

Meanwhile, recent disturbances in Royal Mail's road network were also flagged, with the service admitting: "A fault with a trailer caused a vehicle to be late departing from our Midlands Hub to our Home Counties North Mail Centre.". Consequently, some mail set for delivery in postcodes AL, EN, HP, LU, SG and WD may not arrive on schedule, reports the Express.
