Sadio Mane says he would like to have "three or four" children with his wife, Aisha Tamba, who he married last year. The former Liverpool forward, 32, married Aisha, 19, in an Islamic arranged ceremony last year in Dakar, Senegal. Their marriage caused a stir on social media with Aisha, who was 18 when the wedding took place, then moving to Saudi Arabia with her new husband, who she had met two years prior.
Mane now plays in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr and has been speaking about their plans for the future one year on from their big day. Mane was asked how many children he'd like and responded: "Funny question. If it is just a choice, I would say three or four. Except that it is god who decides and I will thank him no matter what.".
The striker, speaking to Senepeopleplus, added: "Whatever the number is, I will accept it. I am leaning more towards three or four and we will see about the rest.". Aisha spoke through a relative after her wedding last year to insist that her new husband's fame and money would not change her, telling the The Mail: "I am looking forward to my new life and I know that it will be very different. But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me. This is not what I’m interested in. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith.
"I’m not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives. I am a very down to earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage. But I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane.".
