SAMSUNG is turning your TV into a super “intelligent” machine that does much more than change channels and launch apps. The South Korean tech giant is infusing AI into its latest batch of fancy TVs with the ability to understand what you're watching - and it can even alert you about what's been going on in your home while you've been out.

Integrating with other smart home devices, the TV can provide real-time updates about your home, with features such as safety alerts and daily updates for peace of mind when you’re out. For example, it'll reveal bad behaviour from your pets, showing them up to know good with images from Samsung's robot vacuum cleaner.

When you get home, it's all summed up on screen. Elsewhere, Samsung has used AI to help movie lovers avoid wasting time endlessly searching for the identify of an actor or other information. Instead, their remote will allow them to access Click to Search, which instantly brings up details about whatever is currently on screen.

So, if you see a meal you like the look of it will retrieve a recipe for you with all the ingredients - if you own a Samsung smart fridge it will even ping all the details across for ease. For fans of international cinema there’s also a helpful Live Translate tool, handy for whenever no subtitles are available.
