Samsung is introducing new AI in television technology that turns them into "intelligent partners" tailored to enhance home entertainment and security. This innovation, named Samsung Vision AI, integrates features that personalize the viewing experience with real-time foreign language translation and instant access to detailed information about on-screen content – from programme specifics to actors' biographies or even ingredients for a dish shown on a show.

The announcement comes ahead of the CES technology show in Las Vegas – the largest consumer tech event in the world – which officially opens on Tuesday and will see thousands of new products unveiled to more than 100,000 attendees. Aiming to transform TVs into smart home nerve centers amid a surging AI revolution, Samsung has drawn attention to all major tech giants racing for supremacy with AI-powered tools.

Moreover, syncing seamlessly with Samsung's own SmartThings environment, the connected network spanning appliances within the household, Vision AI is designed to give users home-related intelligence and daily briefs by tapping into other linked devices. This would include summarising all activity at your doorstep caught by a smart doorbell, or keeping tabs on pets throughout the day, with the convenience of voice-commanded updates.
