After he and PGA Tour teammate Rory McIlroy dominated the LIV Golf duo of Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in a four-man exhibition, Scottie Scheffler didn't know what Crypto was after winning a huge purse of it. McIlroy and Scheffler were each rewarded $5million in Crypto currency for winning the Las Vegas event entitled the Crypto.com Showdown, ballooning the No 1 golfer in the world's yearly winnings to over $62million.

As Scheffler and McIlroy were presented their winnings, the Northern Irishman looked excited. While Scheffler himself had enthusiasm, some confusion was also clear on his face. 'You know I don't know a whole lot about Crypto but this is good motivation to do some research,' Scheffler said, holding $5million worth in his hands.

Scheffler then joked about needing to call Crypto.com executive Steven Kalifowitz to get some advice on his new winnings. Scheffler is far and away the No 1 golfer of 2024, having won nine events, including The Masters, and an Olympic gold medal. Scottie Scheffler didn't know what Crypto was after winning a huge purse of it on Tuesday.

McIlroy and Scheffler beat DeChambeau and Koepka in a Crypto.com Showdown in Las Vegas. Scheffler's dominance was on display again Tuesday night, with McIlroy showing the form that got him close to snapping his major-less streak in 2024 as well. The LIV duo never led at any point during the evening and was trailing from the second hole forward.
