Fans of Severance may have unearthed some key insights into the life of Dylan G (portrayed by Zach Cherry) outside of work. Since the first season, it's been established that Dylan's 'Outie' has a wife and three children. However, he sacrificed seeing them last season to trigger the overtime contingency for his colleagues, Mark S (Adam Scott), Irving B (John Turturro) and Helly R (Britt Lower).
The second episode of the new season, Goodbye, Mrs Selvig, resumes with the Outies post-finale, as Mr Milchick (Tramell Tillman) informs Dylan and Irving that their 'Innies' have been sacked. Both are left incensed, particularly Dylan, who learns his Innie instigated a violent incident.
Dylan promptly starts job hunting but finds it nearly impossible due to being severed. A particularly uncomfortable interview at Great Doors culminates in disaster when he discloses he underwent the procedure, leaving Dylan feeling discriminated against when it's evident he didn't secure the job. We briefly hear his wife Gretchen (Merritt Wever) on the phone, potentially hinting at her appearance later in the season, reports the Mirror US.
However, fans speculate there's a reason why we've not seen her yet, and a pivotal question from Dylan during his interview could offer some clues. "There's probably a reason why we haven't seen Dylan's wife, just heard her," one Severance fan speculated on Reddit after the episode aired.
Fans of the series are stirring up theories over at Reddit about some potential plot twists in store. One viewer predicted, "They're gonna bring some rando actor into the Outie visitation suite posing as his wife and then they're gonna show us someone different as his actual wife.".
