A garda spokesman told the Irish Sun: "Gardaí were alerted to the discovery of partial human remains at a premises in Darndale, Dublin 17 this afternoon.
Gardai probing the grim find believe the hand belongs to a young boy who was injured in an accident on Thursday night in the same area.
Cops suspect the bird lifted it up at some stage on Friday morning then before dropping it in the school, which was caught on CCTV, before someone came across it two hours later and alerted cops.
A SEVERED human hand was discovered lying in the yard of a primary school today after a bird dropped it.
The limb was dropped into the grounds of Our Lady Immaculate school in Darndale, north Dublin at around 12:30pm.
