Shakira was presented the gong by Jennifer Lopez and proceeded to make a powerful political message in her speech, dedicating her win to her 'immigrant brothers and sisters'. Later in the night, before the four-time Grammy winner hit the stage for a sizzling performance, she also spoke about transforming all the 'pain and anger' from her break-up into her new album.
After scoring her Best Latin Pop Album win, the beauty graced the stage in a showstopping sheer black lace dress, with an orange bodysuit underneath. Shakira took the prize ahead of Anitta, Kali Uchis, Kany García, and Luis Fonsi. 'Wow. This is incredible. Thank you so much,' Shakira said, as she accepted her award. 'I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. You are loved. You are worth it. I will always fight with you.'.
But for the afterpart Shakira sent her boys home and switched out of her glamourous golden body suit and changed into a much more comfortable outfit. 'So this is for you too.'. Shakira then thanked her adorable kids, who were both rocking matching silver suits for the evening. 'I want to share this award with my kids. They are here with me. I'm so proud of you guys, of your kind hearts. 'Thank you so much for supporting me the way you do. I love you. Thank you.'. Jennifer announced Shakira's win by quoting a lyric from her 2023 collaboration with Bizarrap, titled Music Sessions #53, which also served as inspiration for the title of her album.
