Jamie Devine, who resides in Scotland, took a trip to the budget German supermarket to pick up some groceries and was shocked when he reached the beef aisle.

Aldi announced in 2023 that it planned to trial this type of packaging in a bid to cut up to 73 per cent of plastic, however it is unclear whether it has been rolled out to all stores yet.
However, many other customers slammed the chain for altering the plastic casing and claimed it has put them off eating mince entirely.
A third said: 'I thought the same thing was like where the hell's the mince?'.
