Coronation Street has revealed the first official, spectacular pictures and details of a horrifying explosion that tears through the Platt house during a fire. And it’s not looking good for Max Turner, with Paddy Bever having recently quit the role. Max finds himself caught in the epicentre of the inferno – and will be inside the building when it erupts.
However, there may be a twist to the tale – with court filming also seemingly ahead, maybe Max could be attending a family trial relating to blame around the fire. Kate Brooks recently confirmed David would lose a lot in the fire, could it be Max, another relative, or even his new freedom if he is behind the arson?.
A spokesperson for the show teased the drama, sharing: ‘Things are about to hot up on Coronation Street!. ‘A huge blaze will rip through the Platts house next week, destroying not only bricks and mortar but also the lives of David and Shona’s family and those close to them.
‘And when the fire is proven to be arson some of the street’s best known residents start to feel the heat and find themselves forced to try and convince the police of their innocence. ‘Who is the mysterious hooded figure we see pushing a petrol soaked rag through the letterbox of number 8?’.
It’s not just the Platts at risk either, as Corrie went on to reveal names of others at risk – including Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). ‘With no sign of Toyah or the kids it becomes evident that there may be people trapped inside,’ the blurb continued. ‘As Nick, Shona and Max head into the inferno, will they all make it out alive as a huge explosion rocks the Street?.
