TikTok content creators reportedly receive a small fee for videos that last more than one minute and are viewed by followers for more than five seconds - and Spencer has claimed he is making such videos in a desperate effort to earn some money.
The 41-year-old reality star found fame on the iconic MTV series The Hills in the mid-noughties where viewers saw him clash with loveable good girl Lauren Conrad and fall for blonde bombshell Heidi Montag - the latter of whom he married in 2008 and welcomed two children.
In recent days, Los Angeles has been hit with some of the worst wildfires in Californian history - with over 10,000 homes destroyed or damaged since the fires broke out on Tuesday and spread out of control.
But now Spencer has hit back at those criticising him in a TikTok video - saying he is far from rich and also claiming online reports about his financial situation are inaccurate.
