The Ruby Fox-Miligan star took to Instagram to warn her followers to be vigilant, revealing that she had been scammed before, and had almost fallen for another scam email.

Posting a video to the social media site, she revealed how she had received an email that appeared to be from Amazon Prime, asking her to update her payment details. However, on closer inspection, she realised that it was a scam. ‘STOP AND THINK,’ she urged fans in the caption. ‘EVERY TIME YOU GET AN EMAIL OR TEXT THAT COULD BE A SCAM. Stop. Check the email address it comes from. Stop. Don’t go into it immediately. Stop. Think. Breathe.

‘You are NOT an idiot for falling for it, the scammers are extremely good at this. PROTECT YOURSELVES PLEASE.’. The actress’ warning comes as ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale issue warnings to fans about scammers impersonating cast members. The ITV soaps urged viewers to be vigilant as they warned that deepfake scams were on the rise. ‘No cast member will ever directly request money for messages, meetings or any kind of personal interaction on social media,’ they warned.
