Wynne Evans thanked his dance partner Katya Jones for putting up with him just minutes before making a vile sexual remark. The Strictly Come Dancing star appeared at the launch of the UK tour in Birmingham alongside his professional partner. Just moments after speaking to the Mirror, Evans was caught making a comment about his co-star that has got him axed from the rest of the tour. Evans apologised for the comment made to Janette Manrara, who acts as host on the tour, when she posed for a photo with the cast.
He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]." He then used the hugely demeaning term "spit roast" in reference to a lewd sexual act. Just minutes before posing for the photo, Evans revealed to the Mirror what it was like being back on tour with Katya.
He told us: "It is really nice, it is lovely. She is lovely, she is very fun and she puts up with me which is very hard." Evans also reflected on his time on Strictly and said: "I really enjoyed my time on Strictly, it was really good. I had a great time. Leant a new skill, made a new friend. Not Katya. Obviously Jamie, no Katya. It was just brilliant. It was a really uplifting experience and one of personal growth.".
Following the release of the video, Evans told the Mirror: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise." He was seen with the tour cast as they turned up to Liverpool after having to pull out of the Glasgow shows due to an injury. However, it has been reported he will be out of the tour with 12 dates still left to perform.
