SUGABABES star Keisha Buchanan has revealed she nearly died in a horror car smash last year. The 40-year-old told how she blacked out at the wheel during the terrifying ordeal as she reflected on the past 12 months. Sharing a picture from the scene, Keisha wrote: “This time last year I blacked out at the wheel….

“Thank you Jesus for my life.”. “Thankful for another year… will speak more on the cause behind the black out another time. Just happy to be here.”. The singer rose to fame as one third of the original Sugababes trio when she was just 13, back in 1998.

But things came crashing down when Keisha was dumped from the group by text in 2009. She recently admitted that even now she is “still confused by some of the things that happened during that time”. Before being replaced by Jade Ewen, Keisha watched her bandmates Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena quit.

On the Receipts Podcast, on Spotify, Keisha said she was too hurt to speak to Siobhan and Mutya’s exit hit her the hardest as they were “like sisters”. The women have since made up and the original group has reunited – much to the delight of fans.

But it hasn’t been without it’s challenges, particularly when it came to the band’s name. Keisha explained last month: "We decided to come back together in 2012, but we had a really long haul of struggles trying to get to where we are today. She continued to OK!: "We had to come back under the name of MKS rather than Sugababes, and we had to fight to get the name back because, obviously, we came up with it ourselves when we were younger.
