Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan has spoken for the first time about a car crash that she was involved in last year. The 40-year-old revealed how she blacked out at the wheel during the scary ordeal. Now, 12 months later, she feels ready to speak about what happened and expressed gratitude for surviving the incident.

On Instagram, Keisha posted a photo of the scene which showed pieces from a car scattered over a road, and emergency services blocking the traffic. Alongside the image she wrote: ‘This time last year I blacked out at the wheel.. ‘Thank you Jesus for my life! Thankful for another year.. will speak more on the cause behind the black out another time. Just happy to be here.’.

The star then apologised to her loved ones for not personally sharing the information on the horrific ordeal directly with them. In a separate post on Instagram stories, he wrote: ‘Thank you for your lovely messages.. to my family & friends, sorry that you’re finding out over socials & a year later.’.

Keisha decided to not share what happened with the people in her life due to concern for their potential fears. ‘I just didn’t want anyone to worry over Christmas,’ she stated. Keisha has been part of girl group Sugababes since 1998. The original lineup consisting of Keisha, Siobhan Donaghy, and Mutya Buena, but Heidi Range and Jade Ewen replaced the former names in 2001 and 2009.
